Disposable Urethral Catheter Tray(Latex) is composed of a syringe (filled with purified water, not for injection), a catheter, a catheter clamp, a plastic tweezer, a plastic test tube with a stopper, a hole towel, a dressing towel, gauze pads, a water stop, lubricant, a drainage bag, a tray, iodine-containing cotton balls, and gloves.

Scope of application
Used by medical institutions for catheterization, urine collection, and sampling of patients.
Instruction for Use
- Inform patients or family members of the reasons, methods, possible discomfort, ways to alleviate discomfort, possible complications, and nursing cooperation after catheterization.
- Check the specification, and check whether the package is damaged, and whether the Foley catheter balloon is damaged.
- Instruct the patient to breathe deeply during intubation.
- Disinfect the patient's perineum.
- Connect the Foley catheter with the urine bag and open the Foley catheter.
- Select a suitable lubricant to lubricate the Foley catheter.
- Gently insert the Foley catheter, and then insert 5cm-6cm after the urine is seen.
- Inject sterile water of appropriate volume into the balloon, and gently pull the Foley catheter outward until resistance is encountered.
- When it is necessary to pull out the tube, use a syringe to drain the fluid in the balloon first. Do not drainage forcely, which will cause the balloon to fold and make it difficult to pull out the tube. Gently pull the Foley catheter out.
Contraindication
- Those who are allergic to natural rubber should use it with caution;
- Those with severe Urethritis, severe urethral stricture, acute Prostatitis, or urethral rupture related to blunt or penetrating trauma are prohibited.
Precautions, Warnings, and Indicative Notes
- This product is only for one-time use. Please read the manual carefully before use. It is prohibited to use after the expiration date;
- This product is only for medical personnel to operate and use;
- This product has been sterilized with ethylene oxide. If the packaging is damaged, do not use it;
- Lubricants containing petroleum base must not be used;
- Select the appropriate Foley catheter size. For children or urethral stricture, the Foley catheter size should be small;
- When inserting the catheter, the action should be gentle to avoid damaging the urethral mucosa. Do not insert too deep or too shallow, especially repeatedly twitching the Foley catheter;
- When using, please strictly follow the Aseptic technique. Only sterile water can be injected into the balloon, and the amount of water injected shall not exceed the marked capacity; When injecting water into the balloon, it is not advisable to inflate the balloon too quickly;
- If the bladder is overfilled and the patient is extremely weak, urination should be slow, and the first urination volume should not exceed 1000mL to avoid sudden bladder decompression causing bleeding or fainting;
- When measuring residual urine, instruct the patient to urinate first and then catheterize. The normal residual urine volume is 5-10mL. If it exceeds 100mL, catheterization should be performed;
- When indwelling catheterization, the fixation of the Foley catheter should be checked frequently to see if it is out of place. It is recommended to replace the Foley catheter according to clinical nursing norms or evidence-based. When reinserting, the urethra should be relaxed for a few hours before reinserting;
- If there is resistance when pulling out the Foley catheter, do not pull it out forcefully, otherwise the urethra will be damaged;
- When pulling out the Foley catheter, the empty syringe can be inserted into the valve according to the water injection method to allow the water to drain naturally, or the piston can be cut off to drain naturally before pulling out. If there is resistance, do not pull out forcefully, otherwise the urethra will be damaged;
- If it is found that the sterile water in the balloon cannot be discharged and other measures cannot be taken to discharge the sterile water, please contact the manufacturer in a timely manner and handle it under the guidance of the manufacturer. It is recommended to use a guide wire or take out the sterile water after undergoing perineal puncture under ultrasound;
- For patients with emotional instability or uncontrollable behavior, it is necessary to strengthen nursing. It is recommended to use a single lumen Foley catheter. If necessary, appropriate restrictions should be taken to prevent patients from pulling out the catheter by themselves, causing organic damage.
