The Endotracheal tube with suction lumen is designed to establish and maintain a patent airway, ensuring proper oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange. The suction lumen aids in clearing secretions in the upper respiratory tract.
Instructions for Use (Cuffed ETTs):
- Check the patient's trachea to select the appropriate specification and confirm the insertion method (oral or nasal).
- Remove the sterile tracheal tube from its packaging.
- Visually check the main tube lumen for patency before intubation.
- Check cuff, pilot balloon, and valve for leak-proofness and integrity.
- Inflate the cuff using a Luer syringe, ensuring a proper seal without exceeding 2.5kPa.
- Intubate the patient using standard medical techniques.
- Monitor cuff pressure and system integrity periodically during intubation.
- Deflate the cuff before extubation.
- Dispose of the tracheal tube after extubation.
Contraindications: Throat edema, acute tracheal inflammation, thoracic aortic aneurysm compression, severe bleeding, cervical spinal injuries.
Cautions:
- Single-use only, do not use expired tubes.
- Trained healthcare personnel should perform intubation.
- Intubation period should not exceed 30 days.
- Avoid laser application on the tube.
